To-do items

To-do items work exactly like appointments do, except that they appear in to-do lists rather than schedules.  Everything that can be done to an appointment can be done to a to-do item, except for assigning them start times or durations.  To-do items can be made to repeat and can be assigned reminders, just like appointments.

To create a to-do item:  1 Find an empty line in the to-do list and click.  2  Type the to-do item.

When you press return, the item will be added to the list:

Its priority can then be changed by clicking on it and editing it.

When a to-do item is completed, it can be checked off by clicking in the box next to it.  It will be moved to the bottom of the list.  At the beginning of the next day it will automatically be removed from the list, along with all other completed, non-repeating to-do items. To-do items which aren't completed and don't repeat are automatically moved into the next day's schedule at that time.

Instead of checking off a completed to-do item, you may wish to move it to a schedule to record when it was done and how much time it took.  You can do this simply by dragging the to-do item onto a schedule and dropping it at the time it was done.  This is the same way that appointments are moved from one time to another.  In fact, an appointment may be moved to a to-do list the same way if its start time becomes indeterminate.

For the purposes of reminders, to-do items are considered to occur at the beginning of the day they are scheduled for.  The exact time when they occur is specified by the First Hour preference.

Deleting to-do items is accomplished the same way that appointments are deleted:  1 Select the to-do item.  2 Choose the Delete command from the Edit menu or press the delete key.
