Chronograph Preferences

The chronograph preferences control how the chronograph file is opened and saved.  The chronograph file is where your work is saved, including all your roles, goals, tasks, and appointments.

The following options are available:

Autosave period.  Controls how often your work is automatically saved.  You can disable the autosave feature by moving the slider all the way to the left.
Save on deactivate.  If this box is checked, the chronograph will be saved each time Chronographer is deactivated, which happens when you hide it or switch to another application. However, the file is saved only if it needs to be saved.  This preference works independently from the Autosave period preference.
Compress chronograph.  If this box is checked, the chronograph files will be compressed when they are saved. Compressing the files saves a lot of disk space but somewhat increases the time it takes to save and load them.
Prompt for chronograph.  If this box is checked, each time Chronographer is launched, it will display an Open panel so you can choose which file it will use to store your roles, goals, tasks, and appointments.  This is probably only useful if you share your account with someone else who wants to use Chronographer.
In fact, instead of using this option, it's probably more convenient to just double-click on the chronograph file you want to use to launch Chronographer, especially if you keep those files on your File Viewer's shelf.  The chronograph files are, by default, saved in ~/Library/Chronographer.
Note that once Chronographer has been started, no additional files may be opened.
