Version 0.76

Version 0.76 -- June 25, 1996:

Features added:

The expire date has been extended to August 15.
Repeating appointments now have frequencies.  For example, a bi-weekly appointment can be created by setting the appointment interval to "Weekly" and setting the new Frequency field to 2.
A task report has been added.  With it, you can get a list of all the tasks at or below the role or goal selected in the Roles & Goals browser.  You can also specify criteria to decide which tasks are displayed, including minimum and maximum priorities, the tasks' completion status, and whether or not the task has been scheduled.
Checkmarks are now displayed next to completed to-do items. Previously checkmarks were only displayed next to completed tasks in the Task List.
The margin line in task lists and to-do lists now adjusts its width to automatically fit the width of the priorities and checkmarks of the items it contains.
When saving your work, a panel now opens reporting the progress of the save, via a horizontal bar.
Support for opening chronograph files by double-clicking on them in the Workspace's File Viewer has now been added.  This may be a more convenient way to open files in a shared account than the Prompt for chronograph file preference, especially if the files are kept on the File Viewer's shelf.  Note, however, that once Chronographer has been started, no additional files may be opened.
The Preferences category Launch has been renamed General, and a new Preferences category, Chronograph, has been created for preferences dealing with the chronograph file in which your work is saved.
Set and Revert buttons have been added to the Preferences panel to make it work the same way as the Inspector panel. Changes to preferences now do not take effect immediately but rather take effect when you press the Set button.  If you change to a different preference view without pressing the Set button, your changes will take effect at that point, just like the Inspector panel.
A preference to set the autosave period has been added to the Chronograph preferences.  The autosave period is how frequently your work is automatically saved while you work. Note that your work is also normally saved when you switch to another application.  The autosave period only determines how frequently your work is saved while the application is still active. You can disable the autosave feature by specifying 0 for the autosave period.  The default autosave period is five minutes.
A preference to control whether or not the chronograph file is saved when the application is deactivated has been added to the Chronograph preferences.  By default, it is.  The application is deactivated whenever you use the Hide command or switch to another application.
A preference to control whether or not the chronograph file is compressed has been added to the Chronograph preferences. By default, the file is compressed (this has always been the behavior).  The compression reduces the file to about 15% of its uncompressed size, so, unless you have a slow system, it's a good idea to leave this preference enabled.
A preference has been added to the Appointment preferences to automatically delete completed to-do items each time Chronographer is launched.  The default is to delete them.  If this preference is not set, then completed to-do items will remain in the day they are in, regardless of the setting of the Auto bump to-do items preference.  Note that repeating to-do items are never autobumped, but they are deleted if they have been marked completed, and this preference has been set.
The schedule time preferences (First Hour and Last Hour) are now set with arrow buttons, and they display the hours in 12- or 24-hour mode, according to the Time Style preference.
For people who like to stay logged in all the time, autobumps now occur once a day, instead of just at launch time, so you no longer have to quit and re-start Chronographer to move your to-do items into the current day.  Chronographer also advances the schedule window to the new day at the same time.  This occurs halfway between your Last Hour and First Hour, as set in the Appointment preferences.

Bugs fixed:

When a browser item's completion status changed, the item wasn't re-sorted to reflect its new position below the uncompleted items.
When an item's budget amount was changed, the total budgeted field was not updated.
Duplicating repeating appointments by alt-dragging them failed. Now, copies of repeating appointments created by alt-dragging are automatically converted into non-repeating appointments. Duplicating repeating appointments by using the Copy and Paste commands (or the Duplicate command) still works as before, maintaining the repeat interval in the copy.
The buttons in the Calendar window that move the date forward and backward didn't have images on them for some people.
