Day schedules

Day schedules display a single day and its appointments.  Each line on the schedule represents the time period between the time listed on that line and the time listed on the next line.  The amount of time which each line covers may be set by the Detail pop-up list.  The hours at which the schedules begin and end may be set in Preferences.

Appointments are displayed in the schedule as colored rectangles. The time when an appointment begins is displayed immediately to the left of the appointment's title.  The time when the appointment ends is displayed to the left of and immediately below the appointment's bottom edge.  So, for example, the appointment above labeled "Eye appointment" begins at 2:30 pm and ends at 3:30 pm.

If an appointment's exact start time or end time is not displayed in the schedule due to the schedule's detail level being too low, the appointment will be displayed at times which are close to its actual start and end times.  The appointment's actual start and end times will be remembered, unless the appointment is resized or moved at the lower detail setting.

To select an appointment, click on it.  Selected appointments are displayed with a thicker border than non-selected appointments. The appointment above labeled "Repair Monitor" is selected.  To de-select an appointment, click in the margin area of the schedule.

To change the title of an appointment, select it and then single-click on it (not double-click).  In about a second the text will become editable.  Make your changes and press return.

To create a new appointment, find the time you want the appointment to begin and click on the line for that time, to the right of the margin.  Enter the title of the appointment and press return. You can then specify the duration of the appointment by resizing it.

If the times allocated to two or more appointments conflict, those appointments will be displayed with a red border instead of a black border.  Conflicting appointments are counted in the time summaries, so having them in your schedule will result in inaccurate summaries, unless you are actually able to do two things at once.

If two or more appointments occur at the same time or within the same time period covered by a single line, they are displayed side-by-side.  To separate them, either increase the schedule detail or move one of the appointments to a non-conflicting location.
