Summary Preferences

The summary preferences control the summaries in the Roles & Goals window, the Tasks window, and the schedule windows.

Three controls are available.  The first two control the summary period used in the Roles & Goals window and the Tasks window:

Time Summary Period.  This control consists of two pop-up lists which allow you to set the summary period.  It can be set to the current, previous, or next day, week, month, or year.
Week Start.  This pop-up list specifies the day of the week that begins week-based summary periods.  The summaries will be calculated beginning at the First Hour of the Week Start and ending at the same time seven days later.  This control does not affect summary periods that are not based on the week.
This control also determines which day begins the day button bar, unless the "Center day button bar" preference is set.  It also affects how week numbers are calculated.

The third control affects the schedule window summaries:

Schedule Summary.  This pop-up list controls how the schedule window summaries are calculated.  If Appointment is selected, only the time scheduled for the selected appointment is displayed.  If Task, Goal, or Role is selected, the time displayed will reflect the total of the times scheduled for all the appointments in the schedule that belong to the same task, goal, or role as the selected appointment.  If the selected appointment belongs to a sub-goal, the most specific sub-goal is used.  If Color is selected, the summary will represent the total time scheduled for all appointments in the schedule that have the exact same color as the selected appointment.
